UNDERCARRIAGE BLASTING

Everything from the wheel wells down. Years of grime, grease, road film, and failing undercoating come off and what's underneath is usually the factory finish, still intact.

What we clean

Wheel wells, suspension, and steering components. Drivetrain, differentials, and axles. Frame, subframe, and belly pans. Exhaust, heat shields, and brake and fuel lines.

What comes off, and what stays

Grease, oil film, road grime, salt residue, and old undercoating that has gone brittle. Plastics, rubber bushings, wiring looms, and painted surfaces are left intact. At the settings we run, dry ice lifts contamination off the surface rather than cutting into it. Removal of thick bitumen based undercoating that is still pliable is slower going and sometimes has to be worked in stages.

Why dry ice, and why not

No water means nothing driven into seams, bushings, or electrical connectors, and no moisture left behind to start corrosion in the places you just cleaned. However: blasting shows you what is actually there. On older vehicles that sometimes means surface rust or previous repairs the grime was hiding. Structural rust is a different conversation. And this is line of sight work, we can clean what we can see.
